About DevOcean IT

Practical technology judgment, built from decades of hands-on work.

DevOcean IT

DevOcean IT was built around a simple idea: when used correctly, technology makes our lives easier.

Modern systems are connected. Networks affect cameras. Email affects operations. Automation affects lighting. Internet affects everything. Tying everything together into a seamless system is our specialty.

DevOcean helps homeowners, businesses, vessel owners, and small organizations understand the value of new technologies, thereby enabling you to make better technology decisions, and we help carry those decisions through to a working result.

Experience across systems, not just devices.

DevOcean IT is led by Chris Fuzy, a Fort Lauderdale-based technology professional with more than two decades of hands-on experience across business IT, marine systems, home technology, automation, lighting, networking, security cameras, and field support.

That range matters, because increasingly, many technology problems do not belong to one trade. A camera issue may really be a network issue. A smart home problem may be a control or configuration issue. An email problem may involve DNS, security records, user habits, and business continuity.

Over the years, Chris has also supported larger field environments, including campus-sized camera and Wi-Fi systems and the technology planning side of many office, warehouse, and light industrial buildouts.

DevOcean exists for situations where the problem crosses categories and someone needs to understand the whole environment.

Judgment before equipment.

The goal is not to sell more hardware; the goal is to recommend what actually makes sense. We adhere to the KISS philosophy: the simpler a system can be to serve a specific need, the better.

Sometimes that means installing new equipment. Sometimes it means reconfiguring what is already there. When appropriate, it means telling a client NOT to spend money on something that will not solve the real problem (or worse, create more), despite an alluring sales pitch they were given.

Good technology work starts with judgment. Understanding the environment, identifying the potential failure points, and choosing the cleanest path to a reliable result is our specialty.

Homes, businesses, vessels, and buildouts.

DevOcean works across several environments because the underlying problems are often the same: connectivity, reliability, usability, security, and accountability.

For businesses, that may mean email, networks, remote access, devices, cameras, vendor coordination, and the IT side of office or warehouse buildouts.

For homes, it may mean Wi-Fi, cameras, lighting controls, thermostats, automation, and connected devices.

For vessels, it may mean Starlink, onboard networking, remote access, and systems that need to work away from the dock.

The common thread is our goal of making complex technology easier to understand, manage, and trust.

A practical fractional technology advisor.

Many small organizations do not need a full-time technology director.

They still need someone who can think like one.

DevOcean can serve as a practical fractional technology advisor for clients who need help planning systems, coordinating vendors, evaluating options, and making sure decisions turn into working results.

That can mean reviewing a buildout before wiring begins, helping choose the right platform, coordinating internet and network infrastructure, planning cameras and access, or simply being the person who understands how the pieces are supposed to work together.

The value is not just technical labor; the value is judgment, long term accountability, and reliable results.

One point of accountability.

Clients call DevOcean when they want someone who can look at the whole picture.

  • Not just the router.
  • Not just the camera.
  • Not just the app.
  • Not just the wiring.

The whole system.

In the long run, this approach saves time, reduces finger-pointing between vendors, and leads to better outcomes.

What clients can expect.

  • Clear diagnosis before recommendations
  • Practical solutions over unnecessary complexity
  • Respect for the client's time and budget
  • Careful implementation
  • Clean communication
  • Remote support where appropriate
  • Vendor coordination when needed
  • Long-term thinking instead of one-off fixes
